In an effort to contribute to public awareness about how deeply compromised our news media are, I’ve been giving a bunch of interviews about what happened at Thomson Reuters… putting me behind on completing a number of posts I’ve been preparing for this Substack. Hopefully I’ll be able to finish up those delayed posts and publish them in the next few weeks.
My perception is that liberal media for the most part misleads by omission, i.e. by selective reporting and by insinuation. Of those outlets you list here with which I'm familiar many just outright lie on a regular basis. So I'm principally disappointed with corporate/ liberal media though sadly this is nothing new. At the same time I feel some concern about your becoming a victim of guilt by association. The difficult issue in these times is how to reach an audience that's not merely an echo chamber.
Maybe I wasn't clear about "those outlets you (ZK) list here...". I'm referring to the conservative outlets that trade in outright lies every day. Certainly, you don't think those conservative outlets have no power?
On an individual level, the only solution is to expose yourself to news media across the political spectrum. To seek out "both sides of the story". On a societal level, perhaps that's not a practical solution, and ultimately the solution will need to be more complex. Unfortunately, however, many people have been duped into believing that Fox News trades in misinformation but NYT, or Reuters does not. This is demonstrably false.
I did qualify "in my perception...". I also compared outright lies to misleading coverage. I think your treatment by Reuters and their overt bias have been awful. I'm disappointed in WaPo and NYT, yes. But I cannot stomach Fox News or NewsMax who routinely promote outright lies. Your link (which I'd read previously) doesn't actually address the issue at hand. I am open to data. I wish there were a way to get your story and message to those who don't knee-jerk agree, e.g. Fox and NewsMax viewers
My perception is that NYT and WaPo outright lie pretty routinely. I don't know of any way to prove which side lies more, except to endlessly argue about thousands of examples. Suffice it to say that the right thinks NYT and WaPo lie more and the left thinks Fox News lies more. I don't have cable, and hardly ever watch Fox News, so I don't have a strong opinion. But I can tell you that the few times I've turned on MSNBC (e.g. in a hotel room) I was flabbergasted by the outright dishonesty.
The Ground News rating system adds context and transparency to every news story. Readers from all walks of life can conveniently identify media bias, check source credibility, and view ownership data for news outlets around the world.

Of course the Liberal media misleads. They’re in power and want to stay in power so will use every dirty trick to do that.

I'm concerned with misinformation in all news media. Liberal media routinely reports outright misinformation. It's flaws are not limited to omission. See for example: https://www.commonsense.news/p/i-criticized-blm-then-i-was-fired

This website helps me somewhat sort through the bullshit and opened my eyes to who owns what.
